We’ve unlocked 2 More Stretch Goals!

Thank you, everyone! Here's what you unlocked together.

UNLOCKED “1d10 I Found a Bunker” (Physical + Digital, Familiar Faces). Let us reassure you, this isn’t just about rations and oxygen tanks. Some of these rooms will be detailed with connections to Knights of Lazarus, and the other 4 books we plan to release this year.

UNLOCKED Ballista Art Print! Every physical tier backer will receive the Ballista print illustrated by Jedrzej Nyka. I love this illustration - and have a sweet spot for the traps in The Ship Canterbury. At their core - they are used to slow down players + severely punish the impatient or rushed players.

That said, in almost every situation they are optional to players. They do not have to engage with them, but they do have to weigh risks and rewards and spend precious time.

What Are the New Stretch Goals?

Based on the answers from Update #1 we wanted to focus on toolkit and worldbuilding rewards. We hope you like the next three rewards.

$8000 Iron Tiger (Physical + Digital) for use in Familiar Faces Vol.1. Iron Tiger is an anonymous group of hackers. Five years ago they uncharacteristically doxxed Zoya Amari (prior to changing her identity) after she played a key role in outing the Prime Minister of Unk Bordeaux and taking down the Gray Terror Cartel. The Iron Tiger section will also receive a “1d5 Reasons they Doxxed Zoya Amari”. (Will be included in the zine!)

$10,000 Merlin Dome (Physical + Digital) for use in Knights of Lazarus. The KoL training headquarters and main barracks receives a blurb and “1d5 Merlin Dome Interactions” table. (Will be included in the zine!)

$12,000 Bashkir E + Orbito 4 (Physical + Digital) for use in Knights of Lazarus. Bashkir E is the order’s primary mission deployment center “1d5 Mission Logs on Bashkir E” Orbito 4 is their trial and imprisonment center. Players who have joined the Knights of Lazarus and fail a post-mission psych evaluation will most likely end up here to further inspect their loyalty. “1d5 TBD table for Orbito 4” (Will be included in the zine!)

Community 1d10 #2: What Did the Laughing Sphinx Corporation Find While Clearing Space Debris?

Laughing Sphinx Corporation is a space debris removal company that services the solar system Julip IV and its satellites belong to. Individuals in the corporation are connected to Marcello Renato and Kurt Pharaoh in Familiar Faces Vol.1 + [Spoiler] will have a connection to an NPC in Familiar Faces Vol.2.

Space debris removal is important work. It can also be oddly dangerous depending on what you find out there.

UNLOCKED! Stretch Goal #1: “Crumpled Map” for Knights of Lazarus (Digital - Player Handout)

I’m ecstatic to make some random tables with you all! And, just as excited to design it and send it out with the digital assets.

For this table, we will make slight adjustments to the “I Inspect the Statue” and “2d10 Medieval Artifacts” tables to provide a few random shields to give more use to this table.

It’s incredible, the feeling we felt with all of this support out of the gate. All we can say is thank you for bringing these books to life! Thank you for trusting us to create something worthwhile for you.

STRETCH GOALS

We want to maximize assets and create stretch goals that backers find valuable for both Knights of Lazarus and Familiar Faces. I have some assumptions, beginning with the first stretch goal of a “Crumpled Map” which we may hit by the end of the day.

The map is an incomplete and distorted version of one of the three entrances to The Ship Canterbury. (Low-ink for easy printing.) It represents the “best guess” of a previous band of treasure hunters. There are hopefully reliable parts to it. I’m interested to see how players interact with the map - fully trusting or as a base.

The second stretch goal is at $4500 and is a random table for generating bunkers. I love this asset because it can be used outside of the module itself - following the purpose of Familiar Faces as a setting toolkit.

Finally, at $6000 we will provide a physical print by Jedzrej Nyka! Printed on the backside for easy note-taking and strategizing against the forbidding traps of The Ship Canterbury.

We have two questions for you to help us best choose future ways of giving back:

Q1: Do you want more map-related stretch goals (dungeon and Familiar Faces living places) or toolkit-related stretch goals?

Q2: Should we collectively create 1d10 tables together in the comments after updates? The topics would relate back to the two zines. If yes, I will design the results into a low-ink printable pamphlet that will be added to the digital assets for all backers.
