Writing and Life Update
The first week after the Kickstarter ended was splendid for writing progress! We wrote the first draft of most of the remaining sections Familiar Faces Vol.1. We also finished about half of the writing for the stretch goals we unlocked. Since then, we’ve done very little writing as I prioritized family obligations.
Baby Gustavo, was born about a week after the campaign ended! After coming home for a day, he was readmitted, to come home a second time and ended up in the NICU when he was seven days old.
Wednesday (3/25), Gustavo came home, just shy of a month old. <3 Everything is looking great for the most part- his blood cells have stabilized from abnormal rapid breakdown, but he is anemic at low hematocrit and hemoglobin levels and may require readmission for a blood transfusion.
The best news - Baby Gustavo is in very little danger and there is very little fear of severe complications. The last two days have brought back a ton of normalcy and our family of five has been able to be together again.
The bad news - PDF is delayed until the end of April. With hindsight, I should have accounted for delays to the PDF, the same we did for the print version. I apologize for the delay with the PDF. The positive side of the bonus month will make sure we don’t rush writing or editing.
The good news - we accounted for random delays for the June delivery of the physical book and with the print order being placed at the end of April, it allows us 2 months for receiving the books from the printers. That said, I don’t foresee a delayed shipping date!
I’m very excited to pour time back into Knights of Lazarus and Familiar Faces Vol.1! I also intend on doing much more regular updates - about every 3 weeks with big milestones and behind the scenes to share. I firmly believe this is my best work to date and I can’t wait to share the rest of these books with you.
Sneak Peak 1d10 I Found a Bunker
I’m a huge fan of escape room games like Exit, Unlock, and Chronicles of Crime. The 1d10 I Found a Bunker table is the best playground for integrating interesting, puzzle-like findings for me. The bunker table has become a two-page spread with 10 mysterious hooks that amped up the importance of the moon, Atlas Roe. Here’s one of them:
"2x months of rations. An unreadable note stamped vigorously with green ink. Loosely built metal racks. Bolts of fabric. A pulse rifle. Awful bedding.
“Laser-engraved, non-uniform curved lines texture the walls. If viewed at a distance, 5ft tall fingerprints can be distinguished.
High-quality images of the fingerprints can be run through any intergalactic database. 4 of the 17 unique fingerprints will pull 2-5 potential matches each in the twin galaxies Medusa Merger (home of Julip IV and its satellites). Only one name pulls multiple times from the prints: Hank Swisher.”

Next Steps
Expect 2 Things In the Next Week:
1. We are jumping right back into writing, editing, and illustrating tomorrow. We are ecstatic to turn focus towards creating again!
2. Our BackerKit pledge manager will go live by the end of next week which will allow you to upgrade pledge levels or purchase add-ons.
Please note, that shipping costs and addresses will be collected closer to fulfillment dates. We will give an additional update to make sure you know when to expect the Backerkit survey.
FOR BACKERS WITH PAYMENT ERRORS: Kickstarter advises that backers resolve payment issues within 1 week to ensure you are able to keep your pledge. This may include needing to update payment info, making sure cards are not expired, or contacting banks to resolve any other issues. I will reach out to you individually in case you are unaware of any payment issues and make sure I am doing my part in resolving payment issues.
Updates and Communication
We will be updating about every 3 weeks and with every major milestone to keep you in the loop. I will also be checking in with the page to answer any questions that are raised.
Please be aware, our baby is due on March 10th! Whenever he is born, we will be taking a hard two weeks off and maybe slower to answer questions.
Community 1d10 Tables
We will be doing a few more Community 1d10 Tables in the update comments!! This way we can fill out the rest of the SpicyTuna Brainstorm. I'm incredibly grateful for your contributions to these tables. It's one way we can provide even more good writing to you all to use at your tables.
As always, I will finish off any tables that are incomplete and you can expect these with the digital delivery date by the end of March.

We can't thank you enough for your support and for bringing these books to life! We appreciate every bit of it.
So far, you all have helped us fill out this world and pack these books! We’ve unlocked important pieces to both Knights of Lazarus + Familiar Faces Vol. 1.
Knights of Lazarus received a physical art print and a digital player-facing map! + 3 important write-ups: Merlin Dome, Bashkir E, Orbito 4, and Merlin Dome. Now players can investigate the training grounds, mission launch spot, and if they are so unfortunate to end there, the prison quarters of the Knights of Lazarus.
Familiar Faces won a political climate from its three parties, 10 extra seeds in the 1d10 I Found a Bunker table.

Unlocked Iron Tiger + Merlin Dome Write Ups!
I’m stoked about Iron Tiger for Familiar Faces! The hacking group was introduced in Zoya Amari’s bio. They are named after the famed chess player Tygran Petrosian, nicknamed “Iron Tygran” after his nearly impenetrable defensive playstyle. The hacking group is loosely based on Anonymous, generally thought to be good actors, hundreds of hackers that are loosely connected to each other.
Every future needs an elite hacking group.

The Merlin Dome
The Knights of Lazarus training headquarters and main barracks. This is an important write-up for Joining the Knights of Lazarus, but will also serve well for the investigative crew. The Knights are naturally open as it is part of their front-facing persona. This will be a great location to meet some of the main NPCs or have your crew fall under the guise of the Knights.

Next Stretch Goals:
$12,000 Orbito 4 and Bashkir E for Knights of Lazarus (Physical + Digital) for use in Knights of Lazarus. Bashkir E is the order’s primary mission deployment center “1d5 Mission Logs on Bashkir E” Orbito 4 is their trial and imprisonment center.
$14,000 Politics on Julip IV. The Croft Party, Slant Initiative, and The Trust Party. (Physical + Digital) The planet has thrived as an agricultural producer so far. These seeds will fill out more of the Motivations from one of our NPCs, Gan Bataa, + give wardens a great option to indulge in something different for their campaigns.

In Other Waters: Tidebreak is an underwater exploration adventure for the Mothership Sci-Fi Horror Roleplaying Game. Lone Archivist is a master of layout design and this is easily top-tier beauty in the zine world.
Thousand Empty Light is a sourcebook and solo adventure for Mothership RPG (1E) set in an abandoned underwater tunnel on an uninhabited planet. The first solo game I've ever bought.
Those Wretched Kids! was inspired by the classic "Kid Sleuth" books and shows I loved as a kid - Scooby-Doo, (and the dozen other Hanna-Barbera cartoons that used the same format) The second solo-journaling game I backed. Plain and simple, I love Kris’s work, the thought of being a misunderstood Scooby-Doo villain, and block tower mechanics.

After connecting with a number of fulfillment companies, we are excited to say we are partnering up. The result is savings on shipping costs for backers. As always, shipping is collected after the funding ends through BackerKit and is subject to change. And, please remember any import taxes that may exist in your home country.

Crowdfunding Projects I Love (That you might love too)
This game has a cloning mechanic that really ratchets up the emotional gameplay of Mothership. It’s well worth checking it out for that alone - the rest is a blast too. I’m stoked I got a sneak peak of this one!
Tim has been one of the biggest voices helping other Mothership creators navigate this February’s crowdfunding. You may know Tim from Burning of Carbex. (Mothership)
This is possibly my favorite art in current crowdfunding projects. Christian has done some magic with the colors and gifs to bring the feeling of Bloodfields alive! The book serves two purposes: Deadly Adventure + New Station to interact with. There’s a generous amount of content you get on top of it all.
Personally, I work with Christian on Orbital Debris and I love the way his mind works. I highly recommend his work. (Mothership)

This is my most anticipated ZiMo game. Mostly because I’m a father and the gameplay seems wonderful! It’s also the opposite of Knights of Lazarus. Feathered Adventures is based on Duck Tales and has a word doc preview for you to check out if you’re interested. (Unique system)
Community 1d10 What does this alien pill do?
I will adjust the “I Inspect the Statue” and “2d10 Medieval Artifacts” tables in Knights of Lazarus slightly to make use of these pills. When it comes to surviving in space, you can never have too many pills.
